1. Who provides Showden

These terms are a contract between you and Showden, trading as Showden. Our address is 21 East Central Apartments, Walthamstow, E17 9GY, United Kingdom. Contact support@showden.co.uk for service questions.

2. Accepting these terms and age eligibility

By creating an account or using Showden, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Notice. You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under 18, you should use account, community, event, and booking features with permission from a parent or guardian.

Do not use Showden if you cannot legally agree to these terms. Parents and guardians should review the service and safety controls with younger users.

3. What Showden provides

Showden combines film and series discovery, cinema and streaming availability, watchlists, reviews, AI-assisted search, community discussions, predictions, film events, planning tools, and booking or ticket routes. Features may change, remain in beta, or be unavailable in some locations.

Showden does not stream films or series. Content delivery remains with cinemas, streaming providers, event organisers, and other identified partners.

4. Accounts and security

• Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials private.
• Do not share, sell, automate, or impersonate an account.
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable security.

5. Community rules

You may post reviews, messages, threads, predictions, polls, votes, event information, and other content. You must follow our Safety and Community Rules.

In particular, do not post or facilitate illegal content, child exploitation, terrorism, credible threats, hate, targeted harassment, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, fraud, scams, malware, doxxing, illegal sales, or encouragement of suicide or self-harm. Do not manipulate votes, evade restrictions, spam, or knowingly publish false event information.

6. Your content and licence to operate the service

You retain ownership of content you create. You confirm that you have the rights needed to post it and that it does not unlawfully infringe another person's rights.

You grant Showden a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, display, transmit, moderate, and back up that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve Showden. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, legal evidence, and content retained in redacted form to preserve conversation integrity.

7. Moderation, reports, complaints, and appeals

We use proportionate automated checks, abuse controls, user reports, and human review. Selected submissions may be held before publication. We may label, restrict, remove, preserve, or report content; limit features; suspend accounts; or take other proportionate action where content appears unlawful, unsafe, or contrary to these terms.

Use the report control beside content or the public safety report form. That route is available without an account and also accepts complaints about reporting or moderation. Moderation notices provide an appeal route where available. We consider context, safety, privacy, and freedom of expression, and may restore content where a complaint is upheld.

If we remove or restrict your content, suspend you, or ban you in breach of these terms, you may have a right to bring a claim for breach of contract where applicable law permits.

8. AI and recommendations

Scout and other AI features can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable. They are discovery aids, not professional, legal, medical, financial, safety, or emergency advice. Check important details with the relevant cinema, provider, organiser, or official source before acting.

Do not enter confidential, highly sensitive, or unlawful material into AI prompts. Do not use AI features to facilitate harm, evade moderation, profile people unlawfully, or generate prohibited content.

9. Listings, events, bookings, and third-party sellers

Showtimes, streaming catalogues, prices, accessibility information, event details, and availability can change. Confirm material details before travel or payment.

Where checkout takes place with a cinema, streaming service, event organiser, or ticket provider, your purchase contract is with that identified seller and its terms, refund policy, and privacy notice apply. If Showden offers an on-platform transaction, the seller, total price, fees, cancellation position, and any additional checkout terms will be shown before you commit.

Community event organisers are responsible for lawful, accurate event information and safe delivery. Showden may cancel a listing or restrict an organiser but does not guarantee that a community event will proceed.

10. Predictions and community signals

Prediction leagues, polls, votes, and Rewind requests are participation and demand-signal features. Unless a separate promotion expressly says otherwise, they involve no cash stake, guaranteed prize, guaranteed screening, or commitment by a cinema or rights holder.

11. Third-party services and links

Showden uses and links to third-party data, sign-in, AI, mapping, cinema, streaming, event, and ticket services. We are not responsible for a third party's service, content, outage, transaction, or policy, but these terms do not remove any responsibility that law places on us.

12. Intellectual property

Showden software, design, branding, and original content are protected by intellectual-property law. Film artwork, metadata, clips, cinema marks, and partner materials remain the property of their respective owners and are used under licence or applicable permission. Do not scrape, copy, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the service except where law expressly permits.

13. Service changes, suspension, and account closure

We may change or discontinue features and may suspend access to protect users, investigate risk, comply with law, or enforce these terms. We aim to use proportionate measures and give reasons where appropriate and lawful. You can stop using Showden or request account deletion at any time.

14. Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, inaccurate third-party listings that we could not reasonably detect, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms. Different rules may apply where you use Showden for business purposes.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for legal, safety, technical, or service changes. We will publish the new version and bring material changes to account holders' attention where appropriate. A change does not retrospectively remove rights you already have.

16. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to use the courts available where you live.
